Greenbrier’s basketball future looks bright.

The Bobcat and Lady Bobcat middle school teams won their respective Robertson County Middle School Athletic Association (RCMSAA) tournament titles on Tuesday night at Springfield High School.

The Greenbrier girls defeated East Robertson 31-21, led by 13 points form Mckenlee Young. Kate Pennington paced the Lady Indians with nine.

On the boys side, the Bobcats pulled out a 48-41 victory over Springfield. Ethan Crumby (16 points) and Nolan Carson (10) finished in double figures for Greenbrier.

Toni Petties (14) and Kelan Clardy (11) led Springfield, which saw its comeback attempt fall short.

The Greenbrier boys and girls teams and the Springfield boys and girls teams each advanced to the Area 11 tournament at White House Heritage.


East Robertson (21): Kate Pennington 9, Kylan Groves 6, Ida Bernard 4, Ava Hester 2.

Greenbrier (31): Mckenlee Young 13, Rielyn Freeman 6, Logan Henry 5, Karen Poha 3, Charlie Kirby 2, Allie Beth Moses 2.


Springfield (41): Toni Petties 14, Kelan Clardy 11, Sean Dowlen 7, Alaric Hudson 4, Kingston Britton 3, Willie Bigbee 2.

Greenbrier (48): Ethan Crumby 16, Nolan Carson 10, Nate Castleman 7, Mack Scurlock 6, Mikey Artrip 4, Travarius Flood 3, Will Keefer 2.
