White House Heritage Middle School sent their entire boys cross country team to state at Weakley Park in Clarksville, TN on Saturday, Oct. 3.

Last year, the team finished seventh at state out of 14 teams. This year the team fared much better.

Seth Gibson, an eighth grader, led the team to a third-place finish with a 12:34 two-mile, in 16th place overall. Daniel Eden was behind him with a 12:42 followed by Curt Qualls with a 12:48.

Luke Buckett came in with a 12:58 followed by Carson Forsythe with a 13:05. Gibson was the only eighth grader in the top five, the four other runners are all seventh graders. Logan Crawford and Trai Byrum rounded out the team as the sixth and seventh runners.

Four of the top five runners will return next year, and they hope to keep their success going.

Sixth grader Indiana Taylor ran the state course as an individual. While she did not place, she is the first sixth grade girl from Heritage to qualify for the state meet.
