WHITE HOUSE – The White House Heritage volleyball team didn’t have much trouble with Springfield on Thursday, Aug. 29.

The Lady Patriots defeated the Lady Yellow Jackets in straight sets 25-16, 25-13 and 25-18. The victory moved Heritage to 1-0 in District 11-AA play.

Senior Olivia Risden and junior Ashleigh Shores led the way with eight kills apiece. Meanwhile, Chloe Pentecost and MC Abell each chipped in five kills.

The Lady Patriots made their serves difficult to return and finished with 14 aces, five of which came from sophomore Addison Waggoner. Shores and Hannah Meyers each had three aces.

The Lady Patriots (6-7) is set to host Portland Thursday, Sept. 5 for another District 11-AA match. Heritage will then host Westmoreland Wednesday, Sept. 9.
