Cross Hit Black 15U finished 6-2 at the Perfect Game WWBA National Championship held July 12-19 in Cartersville, Georgia.
Seven area players were named to the All-Tournament team, including Robert Carroll, Max Huffine, Parker Juillerat and Corbin Sweatt from Pope John Paul II, Mt. Juliet pitcher Colton Regen, Lebanon pitcher Jake Jewell and White House Heritage second baseman Ty Lopez.
Huffine and Juillerat were tough outs at the plate. Huffine batted a blistering .800 with three runs and three RBI, while Juillerat hit .350 with eight runs, one RBI, two doubles and eight stolen bases.
Sweatt previously attended White House Heritage before transferring to JPII. The Springfield resident batted .333 with three runs, four RBI and a double in the Perfect Game tournament.
Carroll was the lone JPII representative to earn All-Tournament recognition as a pitcher.
Regen, a junior for the Golden Bears, struck out 14 and picked up a win on the mound. Meanwhile, Jewell also earned his All-Tournament honor by striking out seven in his pitching appearances.
Lopez had a good showing on the mound and at the plate. He batted .380 with seven runs, four RBI, a double and three stolen bases. The sophomore held a 4.00 ERA, picked up a win and struck out seven.
Cross Hit Black 15U is comprised of players from Beech, Clarksville Academy, Hendersonville, JPII, Mt. Juliet, Lebanon and White House Heritage. The team is coached by JPII skipper Chris Parker, Middle Tennessee pitcher Peyton Wigginton and Maryville catcher Jack Shuttleworth, a former JPII standout.
