The Springfield girls soccer team celebrated Senior Night with a 6-0 win over Greenbrier Thursday night at Travis Price Park.
But it was two sophomores that did the offensive damage for Springfield. Molly Smith scored all six goals and classmate Reyna Torres provided two assists to spark the Lady Jackets.
Greenbrier played an inspired game in the first half and only trailed 2-0 at the intermission. The Lady Bobcats have nine freshmen in their playing rotation.
Smith and Torres connected on two of the four second-half goals. Smith now has 39 goals this season – just two short of her program-record 41 goals that she scored last year.
The Lady Jackets (6-5) wrap up their regular season at East Robertson Monday at 6 p.m. Greenbrier (4-12) will travel to Smith County on Tuesday and host Montgomery Central Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
The District 9-AA tournament is set for the week of Oct. 14.
