Finally, I got all of my picks correct last week.

White House easily locked up its first district title since 2017, and both Greenbrier and East Robertson had good showings against quality opponents. Springfield, White House Heritage and Jo Byrns were all off last week.

Every team except Jo Byrns is active this week and on the road, and a couple of the games have huge playoff implications.

Springfield travels to Portland for the Region 7-5A title, and White House Heritage is almost in a do-or-die situation, traveling to Stewart County.

Here are my picks for Week 10 of the 2021 season:

My record: 33-11

Springfield at Portland

The Yellow Jackets are one win away from another region championship. With a win Friday, they will lock up home field for at least two rounds of the playoffs.

Portland is no slouch. The Panthers just gave Station Camp its first loss of the season and have a chance to win the region themselves if they can knock off Springfield and Henry County.

Looking at last season’s 49-19 Springfield win over Portland, the Yellow Jackets will have a tougher team to deal with on Friday, but they should pull it out.

Pick: Springfield 28, Portland 14

Greenbrier at Tullahoma

From one 4A power to another. The Bobcats are in the heart of their brutal Region 5-4A slate, facing undefeated Tullahoma.

Greenbrier fared pretty well for themselves last week keeping up with Pearl-Cohn for over three quarters. Tullahoma already has a win over the Firebirds this season and is a real threat for a 4A championship run.

A Greenbrier loss and a Marshall County win would eliminate the Bobcats from playoff contention.

Pick: Tullahoma 35, Greenbrier 0

White House Heritage at Stewart County

This is as close to a do-or-die game for both teams as possible. A Heritage win would clinch a playoff berth for the Patriots. While a loss would not technically eliminate them, they would have to go on the road and beat White House next week and need Stewart County to lose to Cheatham County.

Heritage has struggled to score over the last three weeks, scoring at most 14 points. Stewart County has not had that problem, scoring a total of 60 points against Waverly and Fairview. They struggle with stopping anyone.

I’m interested to see how this one plays out, and with the season on the line, it will be an incredible atmosphere.

Pick: Stewart County 24, WH Heritage 21

White House at Westmoreland

This game is pretty meaningless in terms of playoff position. Both teams are locked in their current places.

White House wrapped up Region 6-3A last week with a 41-13 win over Stewart County. Westmoreland defeated East Robertson for the third spot in Region 4-2A.

The Blue Devils have no incentive other than consistency to play all their starters and could use them sparingly to be safe. They may play as normal to keep the ball rolling. Either way, the 4A team should get it done.

Pick: White House 34, Westmoreland 20

East Robertson at Forrest

East Robertson may be coming off of last week’s overtime loss to Westmoreland a little deflated. The Indians now need one more region win to advance to the playoffs.

This, however, is not a region game, and that is a good thing. Forrest just wrapped up the Region 5-2A crown last week.

The Indians need to do whatever they can to be ready to go against Whites Creek next week because that game will determine if they make the playoffs or not.

Pick: Forrest 34, East Robertson 14
