Shirley “Bo” Wayne Thompson, age 78 of Cottontown passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville.
He was born June 12, 1942 in Mount Juliet, TN to Robert and Odis Boner Thompson. He was retired from Oscar Mayer, where he worked as a meat processor. After retirement, he ran a lawn service. He loved horses and was a member of the Bethel Road Saddle Club. Bo was an avid White House Blue Devils Football fan, a devoted family man, a great Daddy and Granddaddy and was dedicated to his community. He was a member of White House First United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Patricia Robertson Thompson; 4 brothers; 4 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Neicie Thompson, Cottontown, TN; sons, Kevin (Kerry) Thompson, Cross Plains, TN; daughters, Patti (Jerry) Harper, White House, TN, Jamie (Jody) Covington, Greenbrier, TN and Beth (Scott) Clay, Cottontown, TN; brothers, Lee Thompson, James, Thompson and Lewis Thompson, all of Lebanon, TN; sister, Pat Davenport, Antioch, TN; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 1 pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Bro. Lloyd Doyle officiating. Interment will follow in White House Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family is planned for Friday, January 8, 2021 4-8pm and Saturday, January 9, 2021 10am until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
