Rita Pitt, age 47 of Columbia and formerly of Robertson County, died Monday, April 9, 2018 in Maury County from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Memorial services were conducted Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Chaplain (Lieutenant Colonel) Steve Blackwell officiating.
Mrs. Pitt was born December 16, 1970 in Robertson County to Frances Chandler Groves and the late Wallace Groves. She had worked as a waitress and she loved music and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her uncle who reared her, James Roberts.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Anthony Pitt of Springfield; daughter, Tabbetha Pitt of Nashville; aunt who reared her, Carol Roberts of Columbia; grandchildren, Brettley Eden, Bryslen Pitt, and Waylon Wilson; brothers, Johnny Groves and Billy Groves, both of Springfield; sister, Tina Blakemon Groves of Kentucky; and cousin, Chaplain (Lieutenant Colonel) Steve Blackwell of Thompson Station.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
