Mrs. Mary Sue Farmer Baker

Mrs. Mary Sue Farmer Baker entered this life on April 28, 1943 to Robert L. “Man” Farmer, Sr. and Ruby “Nanny” Farmer, in Robertson County, Tennessee. She was sister to four brothers and one sister.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Banks Chapel United Methodist Church, Springfield, Tennessee where she attended faithfully.

She graduated from Bransford High and was a member of the Class of 1961. She decided to pursue her love and personal anointing from God in nursing and became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Her gift of nursing was used in many capacities for over forty years. Mary Sue enjoyed serving others.

Mary Sue was joined in Holy Matrimony with Claude Baker in 1980. They spent years building a life and legacy for their family. They traveled together and enjoyed time with their families including their grandchildren and great grandchildren.  As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers she loved. Her influence and impact will forever remain in our lives and our hearts.  Mary Sue had a gentle spirit and will be greatly missed. She was a beautiful, giving, friendly, strong and remarkable woman.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, John Wayne and Thomas Leonard Farmer.

Her life will forever be cherished by her family:  husband, Claude D. Baker; sons: Thomas Wayne (Paula) Farmer, Phillip Maurice (Donna) Farmer, and Roy (Kelly) Bullock, Jr. of Mount Pleasant, TN, and daughter, Cheryl Bigbee; step-children: Carol Beckett, Carlene Baker and Larry Baker; brothers, Robert L. (Geraldine) Farmer, Jr., James E. (Ethel) Farmer of Nashville, TN, and a very devoted sister, Shirley J. (Daniel) Johnson of Goodlettsville, TN; grandchildren: Terrill of Antioch, TN, RaShaunda of Dallas, TX, Chris, Phillip, Jr., Terence, Ronesha, Alex, J.R. and a host of great-grandchildren; devoted sister by loyalty, Virginia Boyd; cousin, Audrey Dowlen; godson, James (Rusty) Harris, and BFF, Evelyn McKissack; sisters-in-Love, Beverly Baker, Denise Jones, Cynthia Ellis, and Tracy Barbee; brothers-in-Love, Roy Barbee, James Barbee, Derrick Barbee, Terry Baker, Lewis Baker and Larry Baker; and a host of other in-laws, relatives, and friends.

Funeral Service was Friday, August 9, 2019 at 1 p.m. at City of Faith Church with Elder Darryl Taliaferro, Eulogy; and Pastor Vernon Acklin, Officiant; Interment was in Banks Chapel Church Cemetery.

W. D. Crowder Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
