Mary Lillian Emmett, 87 of Cottontown went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 16, 2020 at Hendersonville Medical Center. She was born June 11, 1933 in Big Sandy, Tennessee to William Gulley & Iva Bell Barnes Beecham. She was a clerical worker for the state of Tennessee before her retirement. Mrs. Emmett was known for her big heart. She fiercely loved her husband, son, sister and all of her family. She sang for many years with the Emmett trio and was a member of the Church of the First Born in Hartsville, TN. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James G. Emmett; son, James Jeffrey Emmett, both of Cottontown, TN; sister, Retha Fay (Rev. Jack) Stone, White House, TN; Uncle, Cliff (Bertie) Barnes, Cleveland, OH; Nephew, David Stone, Indianapolis, IN. Graveside service and interment will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 2pm in White House Memorial Gardens, with Bro. Wayne Andrews officiating and with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2020 10am until 1:30pm at Austin & Bell in White House.
