Mary Ellen Pugh, 85, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, died Tuesday April 10, 2018 at Springfield Heights Assisted Living in Springfield, TN.

Memorial services will be conducted Saturday April 14 at 2 p.m. at the Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Mountain Home. Entombment will follow in the Saint Andrews Episcopal Columbarium. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.

 

Mrs. Pugh was born November 18, 1932 in Fredonia, KS to the late Jesse Denton and Susie Marie Wagner Rossel. She was the former owner and operator of Saddles N Such in Germantown, TN. Mrs. Pugh was a member of Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Mountain Home, and she attended St. Luke’s Episcopal Church while living in Springfield. She was a member of the DAR and PEO in Arkansas, and she visited both chapters while living in Tennessee. Mrs. Pugh was a Cellist, and a member of the Mountain Home Community Orchestra. She was a Master Gardener, having won many awards and ribbons. She raised German Roller Canarys and was an excellent seamstress.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Dr. Russell Oris Pugh. Mrs. Pugh is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Diane and Lawrence “Bob” Hoge of Springfield, by her sons and daughter-in-law: David Pugh of Bowling Green, KY, Richard and Dawn Pugh of Bartlett, TN, by her sister and brother-in-law: Dorothy and Allen Lay of California, by her grandchildren: Kristin (Brent) Owens, Katherine Pugh (Scott Smyth), Christopher Pugh, and Michael Pugh, and her great grandchildren: Parker and Austin Pugh.

 

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to either Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Mountain Home, AR or St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Springfield, TN
