Kimberly Dawn Holmes

Kimberly Dawn Holmes entered this life on May 15, 1962 to the proud parents of the late Phillip Nathaniel Holmes and Evelyn Faye Holmes. This happy birth took place at Jesse Holman Hospital in Springfield, Tennessee. She had one brother, Kenneth DeWayne Holmes, who preceded her in death in 1964.

Kimberly was educated in Robertson County where she attended Bransford Elementary School, and graduated from Springfield High School in 1980. Kimberly was a joyful student who embraced her life and her education. Her love of sports was realized on the softball team at Springfield High School.  After graduation, she attended MTSU for one year which equipped her to enter the workforce in Springfield. Kimberly was employed by the Robertson County Recycle Center for over ten years. She was later employed by Collins & Aikman Factory, and Electrolux Appliances. She was also employed with the Kroger Company.  She retired from Electrolux in 2017 due to health problems.

Kimberly's greatest achievement was the birth of her daughter, Kayla Delrae Holmes. She cherished her daughter, and Kayla became the centerpiece of her life. They shared many special moments together and with Mother Faye Holmes. Their special bond was extended with the birth of Kayla's children, Adriana Denae and A. J. McCarley. As a grandmother, Kimberly was able to experience the joys and adventures of her grandchildren.

Kimberly was known for her willing spirit to help other people in general. She was a friend to everyone she met. Her love for family moved her to assist in the care of her father, mother, grandparents, aunts, and grandchildren. She performed many charitable acts of mercy in her lifetime that were unknown to the public.

Kimberly's presence will be greatly missed by her family, friends, coworkers, classmates, and others to whom her kindness was shown. She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Kayla Holmes of Springfield, TN; grandchildren, Adriana and A.J. McCarley of Springfield, TN; mother, Faye Holmes of Springfield, TN; half-sister, Felicia Freeman of Springfield, TN; two aunts, Barbara Thomas and Burma Shannon both of Springfield, TN;  two uncles, Harry Hilliard of Greenbelt, MD, Paul Nixon of IN; god daughter, Malia Shannon, a host of relatives and friends, Antonio McCarley Sr., and special friend, Karen Brown.
