Edna Louise Cox Rippy, age 85 of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Centennial Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Billy Darrow officiating. Burial will follow in the Owens Chapel Cemetery with her grandsons, Jeff Lemley, Jason Lemley, Clayton Sneed, Little Ricky Sneed, Brian Howse and Troy Duffer serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at 3 p.m.
Mrs. Rippy was born March 14, 1934 in Springfield to the late Clarence and Katherine Wildmone Cox. She was a homemaker and member of the Owens Chapel United Methodist Church. She loved being outdoors and spent most of her time mowing and working with her flowers. She loved cooking and going to yard sales, but she dearly loved her family.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Rippy is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Rippy, her sister, Martha Mink and her brother, Clifford Cox. She is survived by her son, Anthony “Bubba” and wife, Sherrie Rippy of Springfield; daughters, Vicky and husband, Ted Howse of Springfield, Brenda and husband, Jerry Lemley of Cottontown and Linda and husband, Ricky Sneed of Springfield; brothers, Bobby and wife, Shirley Cox of Springfield, Ronnie and wife, Judy Cox of Greenbrier and Ricky and wife, Janet Cox of Springfield; sisters, Sue and husband, George Rogers of Orlinda and Cheryl and husband, Sarge Blankenship of Clarksville; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
