A Robertson County man was convicted earlier this month in Davidson County on charges of statutory rape involving sex with a minor.

Dylan J. Hardison, 24, of White House was sentenced to three years in prison on Sept. 1 by presiding Judge Steve Dozier of Davidson County Criminal Court.

Based on a detailed case file provided by the Metropolitan Nashville Criminal Court Clerk, Hardison was indicted on three separate counts, all dealing with rape of a child and was sentenced for one year of prison time for each count.

The case stems from at least two instances involving Hardison with a minor. According to an anonymous source familiar with the situation, Hardison, who was 19 at the time, was accused of sleeping with a 12-year-old girl in the Nashville area on Sept. 1, 2017.

A second incident between Hardison and the minor occurred again on Nov. 19 of that year. Although Hardison claimed the relationship was consensual, a citation for his arrest was made and issued five days later where he was held on $20,000 bond.

The case was handled by prosecutor Wesley Holder of the Crimes Against Children Division in the District Attorney’s office. Hardison first appeared in court on January 8, 2018, for a trial with Judge Allegra Walker.

The Nashville District Attorney’s Office declined to release any additional information regarding the case due to the nature of the crime, based on a statement from Director of Communications Steve Hayslip.

Hardison’s attorney, Brent O. Horst, also declined to comment on the case

Hardison is now being held at the Davidson County Male Correctional Development Center in Nashville. As part of his sentence, he will be required to serve a minimum of 30 percent of his prison sentence before being eligible for parole.
