The Middle Tennessee Chapter of the WoodmenLife donated a large flagpole each to the North and South White House Volunteer Fire Stations.

The volunteer fire halls serve both the Sumner and Robertson County regions around White House. The Woodmen also hosted an appreciation barbecue at the South station for local first responders.

WoodmenLife representative Randy Cline, said the purpose of the barbecue was to honor the volunteers of the community, “We want them to know that we appreciate them.”

Volunteer Fire Chief, Gerald Wakefield said of the event, “This is awesome. Thank you.” He complimented the new flagpole and expressed gratitude for all the donations that made the installation possible.

According to their website, WoodmenLife, also known as Woodmen of the World, is a not-for-profit fraternal benefit society that’s been protecting the financial stability of American families through life insurance and retirement products since 1890.

Cline explained that the Woodmen have given away more flags than any other organization except the US government – over 4 million since World War II.
