Tristar Northcrest Medical Center debuts new name, network

Last week, TriStar Health announced the completion of the purchase of NorthCrest Health in Springfield.

The hospital will be renamed TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center, connecting it to TriStar Health, one of the largest and most comprehensive healthcare providers in Middle Tennessee.

As part of TriStar Health, NorthCrest Health joins a collaborative healthcare network, driven by physicians and colleagues helping each other champion the practice of medicine to give people a healthier tomorrow.

“We welcome NorthCrest to our TriStar Health and HCA Healthcare family,” said Mitch Edgeworth, TriStar Health Division President. “They have shown a unique commitment to Robertson County and the surrounding area for decades, and together, we are excited to continue this legacy of caring for many years to come.”

Net proceeds from the transaction will be approximately $14-$16 million and will be used to create a new non-profit foundation specifically focused on supporting programs and initiatives to improve the health and wellness of Robertson County.

With this initial endowment, the foundation will help advocate for services addressing local determinants of health in communities served by NorthCrest Health in ways that would not be otherwise possible. The foundation will be overseen by a separate, independent foundation board with representation from community leaders in Robertson County.

“We are excited to become the newest member of the TriStar Health family,” said Randy Davis, chief executive officer of TriStar NorthCrest. “HCA Healthcare is a best-in-class healthcare operator that offers advantages on a scale that would be difficult, if not impossible, to achieve otherwise. From innovative procedures to enhanced clinical technology, TriStar NorthCrest is poised to create a healthier future for our community.”
