Several law enforcement agencies from three Tennessee counties are searching for a Marvis Lamont Young, 24, for federal drug distribution charges.

On Thursday, Dec. 13, Young slipped away from law enforcement on Interstate 24 during a traffic stop, according to the Robertson County Sheriff’s Department.

Young stopped the vehicle he was driving at mile marker 17 and fled on foot, they said.

Deputies with the Cheatham County, Montgomery County and Robertson County sheriff’s departments, along with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, have been searching the area for Young.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported assisting in the search with several patrol officers and a helicopter.

Robertson officials said in a release Thursday evening that a joint investigation of Young for the sale and delivery of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana has been conducted.

Police Department, DEA, ATF, TBI and the 23rd Judicial Drug Task Force have been part of that investigation.

The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office and Springfield Police Department initiated a search warrant on Dec. 13 at the residence of Young on Bob Carr Road in Cross Plains.

“Inside the residence, 11.17 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, 34.9 grams of cocaine, one gram of heroin, a large amount of marijuana, digital scales, numerous baggies, one Glock 9mm pistol with an extended magazine and one Glock .40 caliber pistol were retrieved,” the release said. “Additional charges for Marvis Young are pending.”
