Greenbrier is gearing up for its annual “Harvest Time in the Brier” this Saturday, Sept. 18 to be held in and around the Town Square Commons along College Street and Highway 41.

The event, hosted by the GreenRidge Chamber of Commerce, is designed to connect the community with area businesses while enjoying a fall-time festivity, according to Event Coordinator Tammy Perko.

It kicks off at 11 a.m. and continues until 4 p.m.

Cost is free.

Perko said a host of activities will make up the day’s festivities including a kid’s zone with a hay bale maze, pumpkin decorating and a 24-inch slide.

Live music and an axe-throwing competition are also part of the lineup.

“We have about 35 booths which consist of church booths and lots of small businesses with woodwork items, vintage items, kettle corn, T-shirts — all kinds of craft items,” Perko added.

She said Mary Kay and Color Me Nails booths will also be onsite, as well as fall photo options. Food trucks will also be on-site.

“We will have both sides of College Street closed,” Perko said. “Police will be there to assist with crossing the street.”

Social distancing and facial masks are preferred, but not required, she said.
