For the fourth straight year, the Volunteer State Bank spirit trophy belongs to Greenbrier.
The Bobcats had the biggest crowd and the strongest showing at the 22nd annual Pep Rally on the Square in Springfield’s historic downtown Thursday evening.
Each of the five public county high school football teams, also including East Robertson, Jo Byrns, Springfield and White House Heritage, were represented at the festivities. Each school’s marching band, cheerleading squad and dance team performed with hundreds of looking on.
Competitions included an egg toss, sack races, limbo, tug-of-war and pennant sales. Jo Byrns senior Bobby Ogg and White House Heritage senior Parker Deaton provided a highlight by advancing to the final rounds of the limbo contest.
