Springfield High School senior Allison Beard was appointed as a 2019-2020 student board of education member, representing all five schools in Robertson County.
Each year, a student from one of the five public high schools in Robertson County is selected to represent students within the district.
The student representative joins the board members on the panel and offers input at monthly meetings throughout the school year. They are not allowed to vote.
Beard has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school, according to Bob Pruitt, supervisor of secondary education for Robertson County Schools, who introduced Beard to the Board at the Monday, July 8 meeting.
He said Beard is a member of the Springfield High School softball team and travel team and plans to continue her education after high school in the medical field.
