Help name the Little Engine

A fire engine at the White House Fire Department has received a facelift.

Thousands of children have enjoyed a ride on the engine at a variety of community events over the years and will have the opportunity to ride it again as the newly designed engine will make its debut at the upcoming Discover White House Expo and Safety Day on Saturday, Oct. 2 at City Hall Complex.

Originally donated to the city over 20 years ago from the safety coordinator at Ingersoll Rand, the engine was due an overhaul so the fire department has been working to bring the Little Engine back to its glory.

It is used as part of the fire prevention and education program for the department. Now that the engine has a new look to match the other trucks in the department it needs a name to go with it.

Here’s your chance to let your imagination run wild and be part of history as the fire department holds a contest to name the Little Engine. You can submit your name at the Discover White House Expo and Safety Day, by emailing your suggestion to contest@whitehousechamber.org or online at www.whitehousetn.gov.

Entries will be accepted until Friday, Oct. 15. The top three names will be placed on Facebook for a community vote and the winner will be announced at the Fall Family Block Party on Friday, Oct. 22. There will be a fun prize pack for the winner and the chance to go down in history as the one who named the Little Engine.
