Robertson County to celebrate eclipse

The Robertson County Chamber of Commerce is making plans to celebrate the eclipse on Springfield's downtown square on Friday, Aug. 21. SUBMITTED

Robertson County Mayor Howard Bradley has announced that all county offices, besides emergency services, will be closed on Monday, Aug. 21 due to the influx of people anticipated in the area for the solar eclipse.

The event will also cause the regularly scheduled County Commission meeting set for that day to be postponed until Tuesday, Aug. 22.

The Robertson County Chamber of Commerce said it will help area residents and visitors celebrate on Springfield's downtown square on the day of the eclipse.

Chamber organizers are planning for kids' activities along with downtown merchants and restaurants remaining open for the festivities.
