After dropping two games in a row to Heritage for the District 9-AA Championship, Greenbrier bounced back in the Region 5-AA Championship against Heritage again for a 5-2 win in extra innings. Four of those runs came on solo home runs from Caitlin Turner, Shelby Bennett, Savannah Dalton and Kaylee Rector. The first two came in the top of the first, the second two were back-to-back in the eighth inning. Dalton, the birthday girl gave up 10 hits, two walks and earned two strikeouts. Greenbrier will host either Friday or Saturday, depending on Waverly's graduation schedule. Friday's game is do-or-die and determines if Greenbrier will make it to state or not.
