The Robertson County Board of Education has named an East Robertson High School senior as its student representative on the board for the 2017-2018 academic school year.
Colton Hudgins is the son of Bernie and Carri Hudgins.
School Board Chair Connie Hogan introduced Hudgins at the Monday, July 10 meeting of the Board of Education.
"He's in the FFA, the Beta Club, Renaissance, FCA, Rat Pack, Maroon Maniacs, student council and the basketball and golf teams at East Robertson," Hogan said.
Hudgins is president of his senior class, she added.
Each year, a student from one of the five public high schools in Robertson County is selected to represent students within the district. The student representative joins the board members on the panel and offers input at monthly meetings throughout the school year. They are not allowed to vote.
"Colton, we welcome you to our school board," Hogan said. "We're excited to have you as our student member this year...It's always very interesting to get feedback from our student member. We're looking forward to that."
Hudgins said he was looking forward to the position and hopes he can make a difference.
