Dollar General robbed at gunpoint

The Dollar General store, located at 51 Mooreland Drive in Springfield, was held up Friday night by a gunman, according to Springfield Police.

The officers arrived shortly after 10 p.m. after learning that a person had entered the store displaying a handgun and demanded money.

"The suspect was described as a black male, 5'-6, thin build, wearing all black clothing carrying a blue bag," according to the release. "The suspect left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money."

Det. Ricky Morris is leading the investigation into this robbery.
