A child has been injured in Springfield after being hit by a pickup truck on Memorial Boulevard near the flooded Legion Field, according to Springfield Fire Chief Jimmy Hammil.
The youth was hit and received abrasions to the head, arms and legs and has been transported by Robertson County EMS to Vanderbilt, Hammil said.
"There have been a lot of spectators gathering near the Sulphur Creek Bridge," Hammil said. "This happened in the southbound lane, just a little bit north of Legion Field."
Crews were dispatched shortly after 9 a.m., according to Hammil.
Springfield Police, Springfield Fire and Robertson County EMS responded to the scene.
