The Robertson County Board of Education has approved a contract for incoming Director of Schools Chris Causey, who was named the district's new superintendent last month.

Causey will receive a salary of $130,000 for four years beginning July 1, 2017, according to his contract.

Causey, the supervisor of middle schools for Robertson County, had been receiving $84,804 in his current position, according to district officials.

The board approved the contract unanimously at the Monday, June 12 meeting of the Board of Education.

Earlier in the evening, the school district hosted a goodbye reception for outgoing Schools Director Mike Davis.

Davis is scheduled to retire June 30.

At Monday night's school board meeting, Robertson County Teacher Education Association President Nicki Fields welcomed Dr. Causey to the district as director and said the RCEA looks forward to its relationship with him.
